CREATION PART
3

GENERAL REVIEW
This is the third and final lesson on the subject of Creation,
which is most interesting, to say the least. So far, we've pretty much
been focusing on and studying a specific span of time --- from the very
beginning of time (Gen. 1:1) to our first ancestor, Adam (Gen
1:26). "In the beginning" means from the beginning of time --- not
eternity. Why? Because eternity doesn't have a beginning or an end. Amen?
The span of time that we're studying covers that time which actually falls
between two World systems which occurred, each being separate and distinct
from the other. The first World system, the one just previous to ours,
which the Bible refers to as "the World that was" (2 Peter 3:6),
was completely destroyed by a Worldwide flood and instant freezing.
The second World system is the one in which we now live ("the heavens
and the Earth, which are now" - 2 Peter 3:7).
In Part One we learned two Biblical principles which are very important
to this study of Creation: 1) There are time-gaps throughout the Bible;
and 2) Judgement is always the result of sin. In Part Two we
discovered another principle: darkness always follows judgement. It
was that darkness, caused by something between the sun and the Earth,
which caused the instant freezing of Earth.
We also discovered a very important time-gap exists between the first
two verses of the Bible. And, from the scriptures, it looks like this gap
of time consists of that period which falls between the destruction of
that Pre-Adamic World system, and the subsequent restoration of Earth,
just prior to God's setting up our current World system. How long was this
time-gap? We don't know. It consists of an indeterminable period of time.
Most likely, however, it covers millions of years.
From scriptures and archeology, we found 1) that prehistoric animals
and some type of prehistoric man lived on Earth during that first World
system ; 2) that prior to that gap of time all forms of life were
completely destroyed by a flood because of the presence of total
sinfulness on the Earth; and 3) that this pre-Adamic flood took place many
years before the flood of Noah’s time, therefore it couldn’t be the same
flood.
Now in Part Three we will attempt to answer some questions concerning
the origin of demons and their relation to the fallen angels. Are you
aware that there are just as many demons around today as there were during
Jesus's day? Have you ever wondered where they came from? Are they the
fallen angels or something totally different from angels? Let's see if we
can answer some of these questions in light of God’s Word.
Devils or Demons?
The words "demon" and "demons" cannot be found in the Bible. However
the word "devil" and "devils" can be found 4 times in the Old Testament
and 51 times in the New Testament! Almost everyone knows there is only
one devil but numerous demons. Actually there are
multitudes of demons, even today. The word "devils", as found in
the Bible, was substituted for what we commonly refer to today as
"demons." It should have been translated as "demons" back in 1611 by
the King James people. Why? Well, it goes back to what we said earlier
about the meanings of words . Words have changed their meaning over the
years. This is why it's important to do word studies in the Hebrew and
Greek languages when studying the Word of God.
Are Demons And Fallen Angels The Same?
Now what about demons and fallen angels? Is there a relationship
between the two? I'm going to give you what I believe to be the Truth on
this subject. But remember, you have a responsibility to prove me out by
the Word. Personally, I do not believe that demons and fallen angels
are the same. I do, however, believe that a fallen angel is what the
Bible refers to as the "strong man" (Mark 3:27) and that
these fallen angels or strong men are under satan's authority, and that
demons are under the authority of the fallen angels. They are organized
much like our modern military- - - with satan at the top, then the fallen
angels, and then the demons.
Where Did Demons Come From?
We know that angels are spirit beings who were created by God Himself.
However, He did not create any fallen angels. They fell from God’s grace
of their own free will. But what about demons? Where could they have come
from? I believe that they are the disembodied spirits of those pre-Adamic
people --- those man-like (but not God-like) creatures that lived in that
first World system. I believe that each and every one of those pre-Adamic
spirits are what we commonly refer to as demons today. And I believe they
are totally wicked. Remember, unlike the flood of Noah, nothing
survived that pre-Adamic flood because everything and everyone was
totally wicked.
The reason they are still with us today is because spirits never cease
to exist! It seems that the purpose of that pre-Adamic flood was to rid
and cleanse the Earth of everything physical except the Earth itself and
water. Everything and everyone became totally evil, perverted, and
corrupted by Lucifer after iniquity (sin) was found in him and he fell
from his place of favor with God (Isaiah 14:12-20). Hell did
not exist at the time, so those spirits which became disembodied had no
place to go. And as I’ve already stated, "Spirits never cease to be".
At any rate, I believe these disembodied spirits are what we refer to
today as demons, and they are the spirits of those pre-Adamic man-like
creatures from that first World system. They are with us today and
they must indwell a living physical body in order to manifest and
express themselves. Without a physical body they are unable to express
their will, their ego, and their personality. They
refer to the body they indwell as "my house".
The Indwelling Of Demons
Their first choice of a body in which to dwell is a human body
because it more closely resembles their original body. Their second choice
is the body of an animal. So without some type of physical body to
operate thorough, they're incapable of expressing and manifesting
themselves in a physical manner. You see, at one time they had a physical
body, but ever since they perished in that pre-Adamic flood, they've been
disembodied. We can see what I’ve just stated in the Gospel of Mark.
Mark 5:1-15
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country
of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out
of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no,
not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the
chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces:
neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs,
crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee,
Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou
torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name
is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the
country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine
feeding.
12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine,
that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went
out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep
place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the
sea.
14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in
the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the
devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind:
and they were afraid.
Can A Christian Have A Demon?
Now what about Christians? Can a Christian have a demon? Based on my
study and limited personal experience in the deliverance ministry, I
know the answer is YES! A believer can be indwelt by one or more
demons. However, I do not believe a Christian can be possessed by
them. The subject of "demonology" is, of course, a whole separate study by
itself. For study of this subject of demons, I recommend the book Pigs
In The Parlor by Frank & Ida Mae Hammond (Impact Books, Copyright
1973).
Gen. 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth.
We found out that the word "created" is the Hebrew word "bara" which
means "to originate from absolutely nothing."
Gen 1:2. "And the Earth was without form and void; - -" From
other scriptures, we found that the word "was" should have been
translated as "became". And so it should read, "the Earth
"became" without form and void". Now what does that "without form and
void" mean? Let's go now to the Old Testament Book of Jeremiah and Chapter
4. As you read these scriptures, please think about how they apply to that
previous World system - - - to that "pre-Adamic" World system.
Jeremiah 4:23-26
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the
heavens, and they had no light. (There’s that darkness
that follows judgement again!)
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills
moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the
heavens were fled. 26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a
wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of
the Lord, and by His fierce anger."
Earth Without What Form?
Brothers and Sisters, the "fierce anger" in verse 26 can only
mean one thing and it's not related to original creation! No, it's a
manifestation of "the wrath of God" which came upon that previous
Pre-Adamic World system because it was evil only. Do those verses in
Jeremiah sound familiar? They should! It sounds very much like the
beginning of Genesis, doesn’t it? But what about "without form"?
What does that mean? He just told us!! When the Earth was completely
covered with water, all of the physical things of the Earth which existed
at that time, such as mountains, and valleys, and trees, in other words,
the skyline, could no longer be seen. Why couldn’t those things be seen?
Because they were completely covered with water!
Earth Void Of What?
It also says that the Earth was "void". But void of what? Jeremiah told
us about that too! He said the Earth was void of man, cities,
birds, the fruitful places, and light. Amen? So when
God originally created the Earth, in the very beginning, in Gen 1:1, He
created it as a perfect place. He created it "dry", suitable for various
types of vegetation, animal life, and also suitable for intelligent
man-like creatures. But once it became totally sinful He flooded the it
to the point that absolutely nothing survived. It then "became" (not
"was") void of all life forms and everything that those sinful
inhabitants had ever constructed. Are you seeing it now?
To confirm this, Genesis Chapter 1 and verse 10 told us that the Earth
was originally dry when God created it. How do we know that? Because God
was the One Who named it "Earth" and it translates "dry land." We
also learned that at the time God created the Earth, the sun and the moon
and the stars were also created. In the beginning (Gen. 1:1), God
did indeed originate everything in the heavens, including the sun, the
moon, the stars, and the Earth from absolutely nothing physical. He did it
with His Words- - - by releasing His faith through His Words!!
And then, after an untold number of years, after the Earth's
inhabitants became totally wicked and sinful, God brought judgment in the
form of a flood which destroyed all forms of life. Afterward the Earth
remained submerged in this water for an unknown, but probably long length
of time. And, as I’ve said before, "The rest of Genesis is the story of
how God restored the Earth in six literal 24-hour days."
PART THREE
No Contradictions In The Bible
I’m still holding firm to my conviction that the Bible does not
contradict itself, Amen? We learned that every time we see the words "let
there be" God is talking about an act of restoration. On the other
hand, the word "create" means "original existence resulting from
nothing except the spoken Word of God".
God gave us a clue as to the duration of these six days of Earth's "restoration."
On the third day God provided for all the green vegetation --- the herbs,
the trees, etc., yet He didn't cause the sunlight to re-appear until the
fourth day. If each day of restoration had been a thousand years, all that
green vegetation would have died, wouldn't it? But that's not what
happened. Vegetation didn't die. So when God says, "the evening and the
morning were the fourth day" or "the evening and the morning were
the third day", that’s what He means. Why don’t we just believe Him?
We ought to know by now that He says exactly what He means and means
exactly what He says! Amen?
Gen. 2:2
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He
rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
Did God Rest Because He Got tired?
Now I hope you aren’t one of those who think that God rested because He
got tired. No! Think about it. God doesn’t get tired because He’s not
limited in any way. Amen? God ceased, (KJV "rested") because He
was finished. Psalm 121:4 says, "Behold, He (meaning God)
that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."
More Information And More Detail
Now If you're wondering about Chapter 2 and its relationship to Chapter
1, I can only give you what I happen to personally believe about that. I
believe that Chapter 1 of Genesis is God's big "overall picture." I
believe He just hits the highlights in Chapter 1. But in Chapter 2 He goes
back over it again with more detail and gives up us more specific
information about it. It's not a different situation, it's the same event
- - with just more information and more detail.
Genesis 1:24
And God said, Let the Earth bring forth the living creature after his
kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the Earth after his kind:
and it was so.
No Hybrids
In Leviticus 19:19 God told us not to breed hybrids. Have you
ever wondered why? He knew that if we ever started interbreeding animals,
sooner or later we would get the wild and crazy idea about evolution, and
then cloning, and then eventually end up believing that we no longer we
need Him? We've already graduated from interbreeding. Now we're into
cloning!
This Present World’s Status
Brothers and Sisters, it looks as though this present World system is
also headed for total wickedness! It looks to me like it’s headed for a
repeat! But let’s continue to believe and hold onto our faith that He's
coming back one of these days very soon and take us out of this mess we've
made before it’s too late. Let’s continue to believe He will take us to a
place where we'll be with Him for evermore! And I say, "Hold onto your
hat. It’s going to be a fast ride when He does!" NOTE: For
information concerning the "catching away" and its timing, click on my
teaching entitled, "Rapture" which can be found at bibletruthsonline.com.
What About Evolution?
Now concerning evolution, did you know that back during the 1500's
there were only three different types of dogs in all of Europe? Every dog
since then has been bred by interbreeding. But you know what! They're
still dogs! Scientists have performed many kinds of experiments on all
sorts of animals and insects in various kinds of situations. But nothing
has ever evolved. Actually, I believe it requires more faith to believe in
evolution than it does to believe in the Word of God!!
Hebrews 1:2
(God) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He
hath appointed heir of all things, by Whom (His Son) also He made
the worlds.
The Greek word for "worlds" here is "aion", which means "ages,
time and space." So this means that Jesus created time, space, and
everything material in the universe, and we're going to see in just a
minute where Jesus did this by the power of His spoken word.
Since there's a God like that with that much power --- a God Who can do
all of that --- and since we’ve made such a mess of things here on Earth,
I wonder how come we're still around! Church, I only know of one reason.
HE MUST REALLY LOVE US! It's the only logical conclusion there is. Amen?
And since He does have that much power and since He loves us that much,
then don't you just know the possibility is very good that we’ll be
raptured sometime in the near future?!!
What’s Holding This World Together?
Hebrews 1:3
Who (referring to Jesus) being the brightness of His (the
Father's) glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all
things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."
This scripture informs us that Jesus is upholding all things by the
"Word" of His power. Now here's something we need to fully understand.
Everything in the universe is held together by Jesus!
Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in Earth, visible and invisible, whether they be
thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were
created by Him and for Him.
17 And He is (literal translation is "He existed") before all
things, and by Him all things consist.
Colossians 1:17 (Amp. Bible)
And He Himself (Jesus) existed before all things and in Him all things
consist, cohere, and are held together.
You see, a lot of people don't seem to understand what's keeping all
the planets apart and where they are. They don’t understand what's keeping
Earth, for instance, in its proper orbit around the sun. Brothers and
Sisters, I submit to you that it's JESUS! We talk a lot about
gravity -- but we don't even know what gravity really is. We say it's a
force and we have some mathematical formulas we use in calculating it. But
the force that's actually holding this entire universe together in it in
its proper place is Jesus Christ! You know what? We should
have guessed that it was Jesus! If we were more spirit minded instead of
so fleshly minded, we would have just known it down on the inside of us
(in our spirit man). Amen?
The Spiritual Created The Physical
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the Worlds were framed by the Word of
God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do
appear.
Notice the word "Worlds" is plural, meaning more than one World.
To me this is speaking of both the Pre-Adamic World and the present World
which we presently know. And it says "through faith we understand."
It does not say, through faith we guess, or through faith we hope, does
it? No! It says that "we understand"! In other words, we see it
with the eye of faith, and therefore we understand it with the spirit
portion of our mind.
Just what is it that we understand? Being in God’s family we should
understand that both of those worlds were framed by the Word of God, so
that things which are seen (today - from both Worlds) were made from
things which are not visible. To say it another way, "The Spiritual
created the physical"! Now, doesn't that line right up with Genesis 1:1?
Not only do we see our present physical World, but we also see some things
which are from the previous World as well. Some of the things you and I
see today are still here from that pre-Adamic World - - - the Earth, the
sun, the moon, the stars, and the remains of destroyed man-like creatures
and animals with which we're not familiar! Everywhere we look there are
small shells and things pertaining to water.
Gen. 1:1
In the beginning God bara (created out of absolutely nothing) - -
EVERYTHING!
You see, both the Old Testament and the New Testament agree and confirm
that. So let's make up our minds today that we're going to accept both
Genesis and the New Testament as being compatible and supportive of each
other. Don't you think it's time we Christians make that decision? We're
going to have to decide to accept every scripture as the inspired Word of
Truth pretty soon because Jesus is going to show up one of these days -
during our lifetime, I believe. And I don't think any of us want to be
ashamed or embarrassed when He arrives and asks, "Did you read my book?"
Personally, I would like to be able to face Him and say, "Jesus, as You
know, I believed and taught the Bible as though every word in it is the
living truth." And then I'd like to hear Him reply, "I appreciate that.
Well done, my good and faithful servant." I certainly wouldn't want to
have to have to tell Him, "Well, I believed and taught that some of the
Bible is true and some of it is only allegory." I wonder what His reply to
that would be. It might be something like, "You wicked, and unprofitable
servant!" See the difference?
Who Created All Things?
Ephesians 3:9
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which
from the beginning of the World hath been hid in God, who created all
things by Christ Jesus.
This verse is very clear and says that through Jesus, God created all
things. So everything - all things - were created by Jesus and
for Jesus.
Psalm 33:6, 9
6 By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made; (Notice "heavens"
is plural because it's referring to the 1st, the 2nd, and the 3rd.
heaven) and all the host of them (who is the Heavenly host? - The
angels) by the breath of His mouth.
9 For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
Did you also notice that the word "LORD" in verse 6 has each letter
capitalized? That's the Hebrew word "Jahweh", which stands for the
English word "Jehovah". So, verse 6 here tells us that it was
Jehovah God who made the Heavens.
But wait a minute! Just a few minutes ago didn’t we read in Colossians
Chapter 1 where Jesus created EVERYTHING? Now we read in Psalm 33:6
says that Jehovah created everything. You guessed it! Jesus is Jehovah!
Remember at the burning bush, Moses said, "Who are you?" And God answered
and said, "I am that I am. Tell them that I AM sent you." You see,
sometimes the Bible refers to Him as "the angel of the Lord",
sometimes it calls Him "God", sometimes it calls Him the "I AM",
and sometimes it refers to Him as "Jehovah."
In the 18th Chapter of the Gospel of John, when they came to arrest
Jesus in the Garden, Jesus said "whom seek ye?" And they said, "Jesus of
Nazareth." If you have a King James Bible, most likely it will say that
Jesus replied, "I am He". But the word "He" is in italics. That means the
word "He" was added by the King James people back in 1611. The word "He"
is not in the original transcripts. So to be more accurate, Jesus
literally answered, "I AM", and then everyone was knocked backwards
to the ground. You know, maybe we aught to have a little better
appreciation as to just Who that was that actually died on that cross for
us at three P.M. on Thursday, April 6, in 30 A.D.
(NOTE: To learn about the timing of the crucifixion click on teaching
titled "As Jonah Was" here on www.bibletruthsonline.com)
The United Godhead
You see, we have the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That's a
single Godhead with three personalities in that Godhead, and yet Jesus
Christ is Jehovah. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus says, "I am Alpha
and Omega." But back in Isaiah it says that Jehovah is the first
and the last. Hosea 13:4 says, "I am Jehovah, there is no
other Savior but Me." In the New Testament it says that Jesus Christ
is "the Savior of the World". So just what should our conclusion be
concerning these various scriptures? After all, every scripture is Truth,
because every scripture is the inspired Word of God. Amen? Church, there
is only one conclusion: THEY ARE ONE BECAUSE THEY ARE UNITED! God kept
telling us they are one, but there's always some around who keep trying to
explain it away in order to justify their own needs and beliefs.
Jeremiah 51:15
He (God) made the Earth by His power."
Energy and power are almost interchangeable. So God in essence is
saying, "In the very beginning I used my power, my energy, and my
spoken word, and created everything in an instant of what you know as
time. When I created Earth, I created it for the purpose of being
inhabited. Later, however, in order to cleanse the Earth from total
wickedness and sin, I destroyed the Earth with a flood. Many years after
that, I restored Earth in six literal 24-hour solar days."
Is Science On The Wrong Track?
You see, God knew that just before Jesus returns, science would be on
the wrong track. So he told an old, dumb fisherman to warn us about the
next Global Judgement. Peter tells us that the next time the Earth suffers
His wrath, it will be by fire. At that time even the elements will burn.
For years Science laughed at that scripture and the Bible in general. They
said there's no way an element can burn. There's no way you can get enough
heat to burn an element.
But then came the year of 1945 and a place called Hiroshima --- and a
few days later a place called Nagasaki. Suddenly it wasn't so funny any
more. Elements literally melted on both of those days.
Scoffers
2 Peter 3:3-4
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after (according to) their own lusts (desires),
4 And saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? for since the
fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from
the beginning of the creation.
The saying of these scoffers is a prevailing theory in geology and
geophysics even today! It's called the law of uniformitarianism. This law,
(in so many words)states, "Down through the eons of time, the Earth has
been very similar to the way it is today, and that there will be very
little change in the future." In other words, its always been like
this, and there are no major catastrophes that can account for the way the
Earth got like it is today.
It used to be, back when more scientists believed the Bible, they used
to think that God did things instantly. They used to believe in
catastrophes. But today, for the most part, they're saying, "No
catastrophes - - the rivers have just slowly and surely worn the mountains
down over a long period of time. Its always been that way and its going to
continue to be like that from now on. Jesus isn't coming and what change
takes place in the world is going to be very slowly."
You know, I find it a bit ironic that many Scientists don't believe the
Earth will undergo any change to speak of. But you and I know that the
Word of God says differently, don't we? On the other hand, many Christians
think the Earth will cease to be, or come to an end, someday. But again,
we know that the Word tells us that the Earth will be with us forever ---
throughout eternity. In fact it tells us that the New Jerusalem where
we'll be spending eternity will be relocated from the third Heaven to here
on the Earth! (Rev. 21:1-3).
2 Peter 3:5-6
For this saying ( What saying? Vs. 4 -"all things continue as they
were FROM THE BEGINNING OF CREATION") they are willingly ignorant of,
that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the Earth (dry
land) standing (emerging) out of the water and in the water
(Gen. 1:9&10): Whereby the World that then was (the Pre-Adamic
World), being overflowed (flooded) with water, (fully)
perished.
According to he Word of God the scoffers today don't have any knowledge
about the Pre-Adamic World. They also don't know that this flood can not
be referring to the flood of Noah's time. Why couldn't it be? Because the
word "perished" in verse six is translated from the Greek word "apollumi"
(pronounced ap-ol'-loo-mee) which means "to destroy fully".
However, during the flood of Noah everything was not "fully destroyed".
Amen? During the flood of Noah, both mankind and beast and fowl survived,
didn't they?
2 Peter 3:7
But the heavens and the Earth, which are now, (the Earth and
its atmosphere as we know it today) by the same Word (of God)
are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and
perdition (destruction) of ungodly men.
The Original And Final Plan
Church, here's the plan: Our Heavenly Father is going to send Jesus for
us very soon now, so that once again He'll be free to purge and cleanse
planet Earth from everything and every one that's ungodly. According to
I Thessalonians 5:9, we Christians have not been appointed to partake
of God's wrath. Instead, we've been promised salvation --- to be saved
from it.
One of these days, after this old Earth has been both cleansed and once
again restored, we will have come full circle right back to life as God
originally meant for it to be, before Adam and Eve's transgression ---
right back in line with God's original plan. You and I will some
day see that fulfilled, although we won't see it with our physical eyes.
At the time of this fulfillment, we'll be in our glorified spiritual body.
Now I believe that's God's will and ultimate goal for both you and me and
this planet we call "Earth" --- from Genesis to Revelation!
As I said, if we want to be able to understand the Book of Revelation,
then we must first have a good basic understanding of Genesis! No wonder
so many have trouble understanding Revelation. Spend as much time as you
possibly can in the Word. Always ask the Lord to reveal to you the hidden
truths within His Word and to cleanse and protect you from man's tradition
and false assumptions. We are never going to graduate from Bible study
until we meet its Author face to face! Amen!
It is my prayer that you have been edified, comforted, and exhorted by
this teaching on Creation.
